TMP Intensive: Los Angeles A 4-day immersive tap experience with a live band. Welcome to Tap Music Project
Learn how to communicate with musicians, shape arrangements, and transform ideas into fully realized original music-then take it into the recording studio. For the first time, participants will experience the process of professionally recording the music created during the intensive, before bringing it all to life in a high-energy in-studio showcase. Led by Artistic Director Sarah Reich, with special guest teachers Elizabeth Burke, Steve Zee and Ashton Carter.

Levels & Programs
Juniors Program: Ages 8-12, intermediate
Supremes 1 Program: Ages 13+, intermediate to advanced level
Supremes 2 Program: Ages 15+, advanced to professional level
Optional "It's Tappening" Performance
At every TMP, dancers have the opportunity to perform “It’s Tappening” live with the band.
This opportunity is open to advanced and professional level dancers. Participants must learn the choreography in advance using the provided instructional YouTube link. An in-person audition will be held during the intensive, and selected dancers will perform with the band. Intermediate/Advanced to Pro level.
Showcase Attire
Black bottoms of any kind with a TMP shirt or a solid black shirt.
Livestream
The showcase will be streamed live on @tapmusicproject on Instagram.
How to Prepare & What to Bring
Bring a notebook with a pencil or pen for note-taking—and of course, your tap shoes! To prepare musically, listen to Sarah Reich’s curated jazz playlist on Spotify to become familiar with jazz standards.
